Deep links are special links that take your customers directly to a specific place (such as a review page) inside an app — rather than just to the general website or app home screen. This makes it easier and faster for customers to leave reviews or take action, especially on mobile devices.
Deep linking is commonly used in reputation and review platforms to improve user experience by reducing the number of steps needed to reach the review submission page.
📍 Why Deep Links Matter #
When customers receive a review request with a deep link:
- If the app is installed (e.g., Google Maps, Yelp, Facebook), the link opens the app directly to the correct place where the customer can leave a review.
- If the app isn’t installed, the link can instead open the appropriate mobile browser page, so the customer still reaches the right review form without confusion.
This creates a smoother and more direct experience, which often leads to higher review completion rates — because customers don’t need to search for where to leave a review.
📲 How They Work in Flexi Review #
Flexi Review supports deep links automatically when you include them in review requests and feedback forms:
- When a customer taps a deep link on a mobile device, Flexi Review tries to open the native app for that review source first.
- If the relevant app isn’t installed, Flexi Review redirects the customer to the appropriate web page where they can still leave their review.
- This reduces friction, helps customers get to the finish line faster, and typically improves your review collection rates overall.
📌 Common Use Cases #
- Sending a deep link to a customer asking them to review your business on Google or Facebook.
- Including deep links in SMS or email campaigns so customers tap and arrive directly at the review screen.
- Using deep links in QR codes on receipts or storefront signage.
🛠 Disabling Deep Links #
If you’d rather customers always go to the web browser version instead of attempting to open a native app, you can turn off deep linking in your feedback form settings:
- Edit the feedback form you’re using for review requests
- Go to Distribution (or Advanced Settings)
- Toggle “Deep links” off
Once disabled, users will always be taken to the web review form — even if the app is installed.
📊 Why It Improves Review Rates #
Deep linking improves conversions because users don’t have to hunt for where to leave their review — they’re taken straight there. This kind of seamless experience reduces drop-offs and increases the likelihood customers will complete the review process.
